Schema markup is structured data that describes the content of a page, such as an article, product or organization. It helps machines interpret that content.
The checker extracts JSON-LD, Microdata and supported RDFa from a page, checks the markup against its versioned Schema.org vocabulary and applies supported Google structured-data rules. The report identifies the checks performed and their limits.
No. Valid markup does not guarantee indexing, higher rankings or rich results. Search engines also consider page content, quality and their own eligibility requirements.
Yes. The Machine Interface explains how to audit multiple pages with the hosted API or the downloadable local checker. Reports distinguish checked pages from skipped or failed pages, so a partial crawl is not presented as a complete site audit.
Yes. Download the local checker from the Machine Interface and run it with Node.js 22.13 or later. It can crawl public pages or check saved HTML on your computer without a CheckMySchema API key.
Source-HTML checks only see markup delivered in the page response. The local checker does not render JavaScript. If your markup is inserted in the browser, check the rendered HTML separately; the report states which mode was used.
