Product snippets versus merchant listings
Understand why a review page and a shop need different Google checks.
Does this website sell the product?
Merchant-listing guidance applies to a seller offering the product for purchase. A comparison or editorial page can use Product markup without being a merchant. CheckMySchema therefore reports merchant checks as conditional guidance, separately from scored Product snippet requirements.
Describe the active offer
A merchant listing needs a product name, product image and an Offer. AggregateOffer is useful for comparisons but does not replace the seller’s own Offer. The active selling price must be greater than zero and have a currency. If price is declared directly on the Offer, its currency belongs there too; otherwise both can be declared in the active price specification.
Review the details beyond the core checks
Our current merchant profile checks core fields and active-price formatting. It does not verify seller status, image accessibility, shipping, return policies, product variants or member pricing. Consult the complete guide for those features and confirm all values against the actual purchase experience.
